TURKISH CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT

Turkey welcomes foreign investors to apply for citizenship by investment. In January 2017, the Turkish government launched a program to stimulate foreign direct investment and improve the real estate industry.

With the recent changes in the regulations in 2018, foreigners who meet any of the necessary conditions described below will be eligible to apply for Turkish citizenship.

With the recent changes in the legislation Turkish Republic started to grant citizenship to individuals who invest in Turkey without a minimum residence requirement.

The citizenship opportunity has become even more attractive as the minimum investment figures have been further reduced in 2018 and the whole process is usually completed within 2 - 3 months.

Turkish Citizenship by Investment Program Types

1- REAL ESTATE

Purchase of real estate worth USD250,000

This investment route is the most popular and easy option and particularly attractive for foreign investors.

Investor can buy any type of property (apartment, house, commercial/industrial premises, land..) and its not necessary to buy one estate; several estates with total cost of over USD250.000 can be buy.

2- FIXED CAPITAL INVESTMENT

Making a minimum fixed capital investment of USD500,000 or equivalent foreign currency or Turkish Lira.

3- CREATING JOBS

Creating jobs for at least 50 people, as attested by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.

4- BANK DEPOSIT

Depositing at least USD500,000 or equivalent foreign currency or Turkish lira in banks operating in Turkey with the condition not to withdraw the same for at least three years.

5- GOVERNMENT BONDS

Buying at least USD 500,000 or equivalent foreign currency or Turkish lira worth of government bonds with the condition that they cannot be sold for at least three years.

6- REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT FUND SHARE

Buying at least USD 500,000 or equivalent foreign currency or Turkish lira worth of real estate investment fund share or venture capital investment fund share with the condition that they cannot be sold for at least three years.
